Naomi ran away from home during the events of Blood Drive due to sensing her life was in danger from her mother. This escalated to the point of violence where her mother would yell at her to take her medication while restraining her, forcing Naomi to the floor. The stress from dealing with Naomi’s catatonic attacks and temper tantrums when her mother told her that Seiko was an imaginary friend lead to her mother becoming increasingly hostile towards her. Her mother took her to a psychiatrist and she was prescribed medication for these attacks. Her only movements at these times were efforts to draw Seiko’s face from memory which she could not do. This lead to guilt and regret building up inside her at having blamed someone for her own misfortune.Īfter the events of Heavenly Host, Naomi suffers from catatonic attacks where she will sit or stand in her room for long periods of time, often with the lights off. These emotions did not result in harm of the kitten, but Naomi believed that the kittens disappearance was related to her negative emotions towards it. Feeling abandoned, Naomi began to blame the kitten for their treatment of her. This cat was bought by her busy parents to keep her company while they were at work. “It’s because you’re here, Mei-chan, that Papa and Mama don’t think they have to come home.” However, this kitten disappeared after she ran away from home with it and said the following to it:
